Teacher Beauty Finds” Hey Sugar Waxing Salon Experience (Robinson Galleria Branch)

Girlfriends, don’t forget to have some “me-time” this Christmas break and remove all those “hairy” moments away with the newly-opened “Hey Sugar” Waxing Salon in Robinsons Galleria. Their interior design and utmost variety of service are not just for ladies only, but also for gents who want remedy to their “hairy” situation.

Interesting that they’re not only into doing waxing services but also in doing eyebrow threading and eyelash perming. Which exactly what I need because all I really want is a “no-makeup-look” on daily occasions. And good eyebrows and flicked eyelashes is a better way to achieve it.

I tried their package that has eyebrow threading, armpit waxing and eyelash perming to see whether Hey Sugar can be versatile with their service. The way they do my eyebrow threading in Hey Sugar is so clean and neat. Using an organic thread, it leaves no bumps nor irritation in my eyebrows.

The armpit waxing, on the other hand, took my pain level high for the first timer like me. But I ended up getting used to the pain and kind of liking the sugar ingredient that they used for waxing. Ironically, when some of the hair is not removed, the staff used a thread to do the trick. Luckily, the hair grew a little after a week, unlike when I do my usual shaving.

The most painful procedure I have to endure is the eyelash perming. This literally translates the whole meaning of “tiis-ganda” term because of an hour full of burning sensation I felt. All because of the unknown chemicals they put on my eyelashes. After an hour, the eyelash ended up great, but their length is not the same as the other eyelash. The after effect is you will not see clearly for the next few hours, which is fine with me. After a week, my eyelashes remains on fleek, but not as the same with each other.

Guys, you can now visit their new branch in Robinson Galleria and don’t take my word for it. Go and see it for yourselves. Hey Sugar Waxing Salon has 33 branches nationwide including in Unimart Greenhills, Ayala Malls Centrio CDO, UP Town Center, Festival Supermall, SM Bicutan, SM Sta. Rosa, SM Bacolod, SM Calamba, and the newest branch Hey Sugar Robinsons Galleria.

Teacher Insights: Why you should welcome “OWTO” to your transpo life?

I hate heavy road traffic! If there’s one thing that can ruin me and the rest of Filipino’s day is the traffic of Metro Manila. It destroys punctuality, effectiveness and productivity. Personally, I lose many of my blog events because of traffic. It usually took 2-3 hours in the middle of EDSA just to go to work or go home. If jeepneys, buses, or MRT are not available, I ended up walking on the stressful road just to get to my destinations. Now that’s what you call a “TERRIBLE LIVING.” That’s why I’m thankful that Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) like “Grab and UBER” came along to help me with this dilemma. However, with all the high payment because of surges and with all the risks and accidents that comes with it, I rather stress myself riding a bus during rush hour than being broke.

With all those sad sentiments we had in our transpo industry makes this new business “OWTO” made. Made from our fellow Filipinos with the same concerns and heart for Filipino commuters, this business aims to blend the same service of the usual TNVS apps, but with a Filipino taste. With their tagline “, they offer some features that is nothing compare to other apps:

  • More affordable and fairer transpo fares
  • Silent Distress Signal (more safe)
  • Accurate Complaint System (for both passengers and drivers)
  • Senior Citizen and Student Discount
  • Very Special Discount for PWD

And because this business is Filipino-owned and by heart, Drivers will have these benefits:

  • Better Take Home Pay
  • Reasonable assignment of trips
  • Simpler TNVS system
  • Health and Insurance Benefits
  • Localize Approach
  • Fair and more accurate complaint system

As of this moment, they’re still waiting for the GO SIGNAL from LTFRB while completing all requirements and other settlements before they launch the business. But as a Filipino brand, what they expect to aim this 2018 is make all those benefits and plans for both passengers and drivers be implemented. To give Filipinos a more affordable and safer choice for transportation. For more updates about OWTO, just visit their Facebook page www.facebook.com/owtophl/

Teacher Beauty Finds: Novelina Skincare Line Experience

This Christmas season, it’s easy to tame down and forget all the stressful “to-do-list” you have. But let’s not forget that we have some skin problems we have to solve. Last week, I was introduced to a brand called “Novelina Skincare Line” from Tritan Ventures Inc. and use it for a week. Honestly, I don’t usually review products with poor packaging, but its not good to judge the product based from its appearance. So I want to have give it a chance and see how it goes.

The Skincare Line

I first tried the soap and it was a bit unusual compared to the other soaps. “Novelina’s Ultra Lightening Soap and Polution Shield” contains Gluthatione (master antioxidant), Tres Blanche (works 10x more effective than Kojic Acid), Snail Serum (anti-aging and healing agent) and other natural Bioactive Ingredients (pollution shield).
At first, it was nice using using it with its smooth foam texture. But for sensitive skin like me, it’s foam shouldn’t stay long in my face. The sad part is I’m having breakouts in my skin after use. I can tell because of the too much ingredients that this soap has. On the bright side, the soap does smell good.

Next is the “Novelina Instant Lightening Lotion and Pollution Shield with SPF 25.” This lotion is not harsh compared to the soap. It light-scented and smooth in my skin after application. And with the SPF 25, its easy to use it without the greasy feeling.

And the last one is their “Novelina High-Potency Anti-Aging Cream and Skin Lightening.” It has collagen and snail serum that makes it easy for me to use in my face, after the sting feels of the soap. My skin got a little lift after a week. But because of too much ingredients, I realized that I should not use it too often.

The Verdict

Novelina Skincare Line is promising. The main ingredients are good combination to use for normal/dry skin type. But after a week using it,it made me realized that it is not for sensitive skin type. Too much of everything can be bad in anyone’s skin. So with that, I concluded that Novelina is good skincare line, but not for everyone especially for sensitive skin like me.

Well, don’t take my word for it and tried for yourself. For more info, visit Novelina Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/novelinacosmetics.

Sculptures by notable Filipino visual artist Impy Pilapil add an artistic charm to the scene.

Notable words of wisdom and motivation by Washington SyCip, the business icon whom the park was named after, provide inspirations to parkgoers. Other park features include a pond with koi, jogging paths, an amphitheater, clean restrooms, and pavilions where transients and office workers can relax and destress after a hectic day. Park entrances and exits were added to provide access along natural pedestrian paths.

“The redevelopment of the Legazpi Active Park and the Washington Sycip Park is part of our bigger initiative, which is to revitalize the Makati CBD. Along with the greening projects is the commitment to enhance walkability, upgrade infrastructures and sidewalks, as well as increase security features in Makati CBD,” says Mr. David L. Balangue – President and Chairman of MaCEA.

As a primary mover of the city’s development, MaCEA is taking active steps with a set of redevelopment projects in store to keep the district resilient and relevant.

Together with the renewal of Legazpi Active Park and Washington SyCip Park, MaCEA has accomplished a long list of greening projects in order to provide its community and its guests a wider breathing space that can compliment the distince Makati vibe. Some of their recent project included the installation of the green patios and the Amorsolo Greenwall, as well as the landscape improvements.

“A sense of community spirit in Makati is being strengthened with better venues for community events, art exhibits, and general public services such as dental and medical missions of Brgy.
