Teacher Sports Fest:  Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA Philippines' National Training Camp for 2015

Jr. NBA Philippines presented by Alaska returns to the Philippines for the eight consecutive year with a more extensive program. Jr. NBA/ Jr. WNBA Philippines 2015 presented by Alaska tips off in Manila then moves to Bacolod, Puerto Prinsesa, Iloilo, Baguio, Bacolod, Davao, including first-time stops in Baguio and Binan – reaching over 700 schools and communities nationwide.

The leading young basketball program is free and open to players aged 10 to 14 years old. More than 100,000 students, parents, and coaches will benefit through Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA activities including camps and clinics, NBA Cares outreach activities, television programs and digital initiatives.

Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA presented by Alaska is comprised of four stages: the Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA Touring Clinics for coaches and players from January to February, the Regional Selection Camps in March, the National Training Camp in April and the NBA Experience later in the year.

And this month of April, Jr. NBA Philippines kicks-off their National Training Camp to determine 2015 Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA All-Stars. On April 24-26 at PICC and SM Mall of Asia, selected students from different schools will train on the national level, to be led by Coach Chris Sumner, NBA’s very own Nerlens Noel from Philadelphia 76ers, and WNBA’s Ruth Riley. 

DSC05977DSC06006The Campers were trained from different programs from defense, point guard etc. and these training will determine their spot to become the future Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA All-Star Cast.

They also had an “Open Clinic” for the young basketball aspirants came from different schools and community to learn from the NBA and WNBA players themselves.

The last leg of the Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA Philippines’ National Camping Training will be on April 26, Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia.
